The theme has around 1300 employees, revenue SEK 1,3 billion and
provide care on different contracts such as “care choice” (vårdval),
Karolinska University Hospital agreement, separate agreements with
the Stockholm Region as well as agreements with other regions and
international customers. We provide both highly specialized care such
as intrauterine fetal therapy as well as a large portion of basic care
such as delivery. The Theme houses a variety of different health
professions such as physio therapists, physicians, nurses, midwives,
psychologists, social workers, speech therapists, dietitians, curators,
laboratory staff, research assistants, occupational therapists, and
others.

The agency provides financial security during different stages of life. It
includes social insurance benefits for families with children, people with
a disability or illness and the elderly. The authority has 14 000
employees and the budget framework amounts to almost SEK 10
billion. 2021 we administered around SEK 252 billion amounting 5
percent of the national GDP.
