Institut de droit de la santé – IDS – Institute of Health
Law
The Institute of Health Law (IDS), founded in 1993, is attached to the
Faculty of Law of the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland). It remains the
only university institute in Switzerland that is exclusively active in this
domain in Switzerland, the IDS is a recognized center of competency of the
University of Neuchâtel.
The main goals of the Institute of Health Law is to develop and make
available training programs, research projects and services in the field of
health law. The IDS regularly organizes symposium and seminars on topics
at the border of law, biomedical sciences and ethics. Its activities are
oriented in an interdisciplinary perspective and based on a comparative law
approach.
In terms of education, IDS offers a full scope of training programs from a
specialized orientation in health law in the LLM program of the Faculty of
Law to continuing education programs (CAS/DAS/MAS) in health law and
biotechnologies. Since 2009, IDS coordinates an elearning program on
research ethics and regulation, including GCP, that is available on a free
and open access basis in several languages (English, French, German and
Portuguese): TRREE (Training and Resources in Research Ethics Evaluation).
