WMA Annual General Assembly
10-13 October – Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre, Bangkok
The annual General Assembly of the World Medical Association will be held at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, Rama1 Road, Pathumwan, Bangkok, Thailand from 10 to 13 October 2012.
The programme of the meeting will be:

The theme of the Scientific Session is “Megacity – Megahealth?” Among the keynote speakers will be M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, the Governor of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Prof. Yasuhida Nakamura, from the Department of Global Human Science, Tokyo University, Dr. Bechara Choucair, Chicago Public Health Commissioner, and Dr. Jose Bonamigo from Brazil.
At the Ceremonial Session, Dr. Cecil Wilson, former President of the American Medical Association and an internist from Florida, will be installed as President of the WMA for 2012/13.
Among the issues on the agenda at the meeting are:
- Violence in the health sector by patients
- Organ donation and procurement
- Electronic cigarettes
- Ethical issues on Capital punishment
- Protection of Health Personnel
