PROF. DR FRANK ULRICH MONTGOMERY
Prof. Dr Frank Ulrich Montgomery studied medicine at the University of Hamburg (Germany).
After graduation in 1979 he specialized in Diagnostic Radiology and became a consultant in
Radiology at the University Hospital Hamburg. He obtained posts in the “Marburger Bund” –
the trade union of Hospital doctors – and was president of this organisation from 1989 to 2007.
He was also president of the Physician Chamber of his hometown and finally was elected into
the post of President of the German Medical Association from 2011 until 2019. He is presently
holding the Presidency of the CPME (Standing Committee of European Doctors) and is Chair of
Council of the World Medical Association.
