Invitation to the WHO 67th session of the Regional Committee
for the Eastern Mediterranean
The World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for the Eastern
Mediterranean presents his compliments to Non-State actors in official relations with WHO,
and has the honour to convene the 67th session of the Regional Committee for the Eastern
Mediterranean at 10:00 Cairo time on Monday, 12 October 2020. The Regional Committee
will close no later than Tuesday 13 October 2020 at 15:00 Cairo time.
Considering the current global situation, the Regional Committee will be held
virtually, using video conferencing technologies. Details for accessing the virtual platform
will be provided following completion of the registration process.
The provisional agenda for this year’s session has been drawn up based on the
recommendations of the Programme Subcommittee of the Regional Committee for the
Eastern Mediterranean, which met in February 2020 at the Regional Office in Cairo and held
two virtual meetings thereafter in May and July respectively. The proposed provisional
agenda, abridged provisional agenda, daily timetable and draft decisions were discussed
extensively by the Subcommittee, and subsequently approved by officers of the 66th session
of the Regional Committee.
Documentation pertaining to various items on the abridged agenda, including the
Annual Report of the Regional Director for the year 2019, will be available on the WHO
website (http://www.emro.who.int/about-who/regional-committee) during September
2020.
It would be appreciated if the name, title and address of the observer(s) are
communicated, through the online registration system indicated in the attached
Information Bulletin No.1., to the Regional Office preferably by 1 September 2020.
The Regional Director takes this opportunity to renew to Non-State actors in official
relations with WHO the assurance of his highest consideration.
