Subject: Seeking for your co-operation during the crucial period of
the Earthquake
Dear Ma’am,
Nepal Medical Association (NMA) is a non-profit national professional
organization of Medical and Dental Doctors in Nepal. Established on
20th Falgun, 2007 BS (4th March, 1951) with a few as 20 members, it
has evolved into a large organization with more than 14,000 members.
Nepal Medical Association write to you with heavy heart to bring your
attention to devasting earthquake with an epicentre in Jajarkot district of
Nepal, recorded at 11:47 P.M. as per the National Earthquake
Monitoring and Research Centre. As many as 147 people have been
reported dead, and 375 injured, after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake jolted
west Nepal late on Friday, have dealt the most damage in Jajarkot and
West Rukum of Nepal. All the security forces as well as health care
workers are in the district have been mobilized in the search of
earthquake victims.
Nepal Medical Association has been member of World Medical
Association (WMA), South Asia Medical Association (SAMA),
Confederation of Medical Association in Asia and Oceania (CMAAO).
Thus, united by commitment to enhancing public health, improving
medical education standards, promoting medical science and safe
guarding health professionals and pubic in health crisis.
The aim of the medical association has always been to help people at
need of crisis situation supporting them, emotionally, financially, food,
shelther and rehabilitations, medicine and food supplies.
In this regard, Nepal Medical Association has been following those
principles in every situation helping the needy person with interest of
benefiting them without any costs. Following the common principles,
being the association of members, we are backbone of each others,
supporting during the crisis.
Therefore, in this devasting scenario, Nepal Medical Association is
playing pivotal role to help the victims of earthquake in Jajarkot and
West Rukum, by sending the workforce along with the medical
supplies, food and shelther to them. In this regards, Nepal Medical
