WMA PAST PRESIDENTS CHAIRS OF COUNCIL NETWORK
(PPCN)
Terms of Reference
The goal of the WMA Past Presidents Chairs of Council Network (PPCN) of associate members is
to provide a forum for experience-sharing, policy discussion, project and resource development on
issues of interest or, when the WMA may request, the opinion and/or input of Past Presidents and
Chairs of Council to the WMA.
The PPCN will:
• Act as a liaison between WMA and Past Presidents and Chairs of Council.
• When appropriate, lend their expertise to policy development, which will be brought to the
WMA through the Association Members Committee.
• Be available to the WMA Council for consultation or act as a sounding board.
Composition:
• The WMA PPCN of Associate Members will be open to all Past Presidents and Chairs of
Council.
• The Network will elect a Chair. The role of the Chair will be to coordinate meetings of the
PPCN and update Associate and General Assembly members on PPCN projects.
• The Network will appoint a Deputy Chair and Secretary to assist with coordination of
Network functions and to help out with any tasks or roles needed.
• The Network will be based on the WMA General Secretariat and supported by it
administrative staff.
Meetings:
• The PPCN will meet on a yearly basis as necessary in conjunction with meetings of the
General Assembly of the WMA.
• The PPCN will maintain a virtual presence as a means of communication and education.
• Other meetings and teleconferences will be scheduled as deemed necessary.
