Yoshitake YOKOKURA, MD
President, Japan Medical Association
Dr. Yoshitake Yokokura graduated from the Kurume University School of Medicine in March,
1969, and worked for the surgery department of the University as an assistant. After that he
worked for the surgery department of the Detmold Hospital in West Germany for two years.
He has served as president of the Yokokura Hospital since 1990.
He took office as President of the Fukuoka Prefecture Medical Association in 2006. He was
elected as President of the Japan Medical Association in April 2012. He is also serving
Council Member of the World Medical Association since 2010 and Councilor and President-
elect (2016-17) of the Confederation of Medical Associations in Asia and Oceania (CMAAO).
