WMA Welcomes The Release of Professor Karabus

Commenting on today’s news that Professor Karabus has been freed by the authorities in the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Cecil Wilson, President of the World Medical Association, said:

‘The WMA is delighted that the long ordeal Professor Karabus has faced is finally over and that he has been absolved of all blame in this case. We are grateful to all those who have supported the global appeals for justice over the last six months.

“Professor Karabus who enjoys highest reputation as a physician in his home country can now hopefully return to South Africa to be reunited with his family and friends.”
