Invitation to the seventy-first session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean
The World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean presents her
compliments to Non-State actors in official relations with WHO and has the honour to convene the seventy-
first session of the Regional Committee (RC) for the Eastern Mediterranean in Doha, Qatar, starting Monday,
14 October 2024. The Regional Committee will be held in person and will close no later than Thursday, 17
October 2024.
The theme of the seventy-first session is “Health beyond borders: solidarity for access and equity in the
Eastern Mediterranean Region”.
The provisional agenda and daily timetable have been drawn up based on the recommendations of the
Programme Subcommittee of the Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, which met on 6-7
March, and 17 July 2024.
Documentation pertaining to various items on the agenda, including the regional director’s annual report for
the year 2023, will be available on the WHO website during September 2024.
Information related to the composition of your country’s delegation needs to be communicated to the
Regional Office through the online registration system indicated in the attached Information Bulletin No.1
preferably no later than 15 August 2024.
The meeting will be streamed online on the WHO public website; with no hybrid participation. Delegates are
reminded that governing body meetings are paperless.
The Regional Director takes this opportunity to renew to representatives of Non-State actors in official
relations with WHO the assurance of her highest consideration.
